Graveside service for Patrick Kevin "Chickasaw Warrior" Kennedy is 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Lightning Ridge Cemetery in Roff, OK. Officiating will be Mary Jo Green. Chickasaw Honor Guard to perform military rites. Mr. Kennedy will be out for viewing at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 28, 2010. A celebration of life event is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Dawson United Methodist Church in Wichita, KS. All are welcome to attend.
Mr. Kennedy passed Friday, April 23, 2010 at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS at the age of 49. He was born December 19, 1960 in Wichita, KS to William Dan Kennedy and Ila Ricketts Kennedy. He married Brenna Prater on February 7, 2001 in Wichita, KS.
Mr. Kennedy graduated from Wichita East High School in Wichita, KS in 1978. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for many years. He had served in the United States Navy and had also served on the board of the Mid America All Indian Center. He did Native American studies and volunteered his time at the McCormick School Museum in Wichita, KS. He was an accomplished writer receiving several awards. He loved geneology, artwork, history, animals, and motorcycles.
Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife, Brenna Kennedy of Wichita, KS; three daughters, Hayley and Heather Crawford of Wichita, KS and Cassie Barr of Oklahoma; three brothers, William Michael Kennedy of Wichita, KS, James Douglas Kennedy of Longview, TX, and John Mark Kennedy of Humble, TX; three step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ila Kennedy; one uncle, Curt Kennedy, and a niece, Katie Kennedy.
